Leeds West Yorkshire England
Leeds Yorkshire
Leeds prosperity was built on the wool trade and later the textile industry. Today it is a vibrant, rapidly changing city. The smoke-blackened mills have given way to new developments over-looking the River Aire and the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. Here riverside walks have been created and at Granary Wharf, a labyrinth of speciality shops. The splendid, domed Corn Exchange has been altered to accommodate a range of shops and the citys arcades have been restored to their original Victorian splendour.
A city of great streets and ornate buildings, Leeds is also endowed with many parks and grassy, wooded areas.
